Lego Harry Potter Years 5-7 Walkthrough for Nintendo DS and 3DS – Year 5 – Chapter 2
1I have completed playing through the Lego Harry Potter Year 5-7 DS game, at points I tried to find a full walkthrough for the DS version of the game but was unable to find anything. So in order to give something back to the Nintendo DS world, I’ve decided to create my own walkthrough as I re-play the game.
You may also want to check out Lego Harry Potter Years 5-7 for Xbox 360 or Lego Harry Potter Years 5-7 on the Nintendo Wii
as the DS game is doesn’t have everything the larger console games do.
I will be posting separate posts for each chapter of the game while I re-play it, once I have finished I will combine all of my posts together to create a full walkthrough which you can print off and use.
I hope you find this useful, please comment with your thoughts as this is my first ever walkthrough.

Lego Harry Potter Years 5-7 Walkthrough for Nindendo DS and 3DS
Year 5 – Chapter 2
A Trip to Hogsmeade
You will find yourself in a winter wonderland by a large river.
Your task is to find and rescue all four students throughout the area.
The first student is stuck in the snow, you need to use the ‘Reducto’ spell on the snow and ice surrounding the student. Press and hold the Y button and target the snow and ice around the student, when the target turns orange release the Y button to break the snow and ice to release the student.
Across the river are two platforms stuck in the ice, shoot the ice to release the platforms into the river. Use the ‘Wingardium Leviosa (WL)’ spell to move the platforms into place on the river, then use the platforms for cross the river.
On the other side of the river you will see four wooden structures, destroy the structures to find some Lego pieces. Use the ‘WL’ spell on the pile of Lego pieces to create a hogs head. Then use the ‘WL’ spell again to move the hogs head onto the pillar next to the gate, this will open the gate.
Note: You can destroy the icicles which are hanging off the roof of the hut for more studs.
Continue through the gate and destroy the lamp-post to the left of the path for studs.
Enter the area to left of the lamp-post you just destroyed to rescue the second student. When you enter the area you will be taken into a target practise environment where you need to shoot ten death eater targets within the time limit. On completion of the challenge the second student will be rescued.
(Wizards Hat) – (Free Play Mode) Head through the door way at the back of the target practise area. Stand in the middle of the yellow circle and press and hold the A button to transport yourself to another area (this can only be achieved when you have learnt the ability during game play). In this area you will find a Wizards Hat, use the yellow circle in the same way on this side to get back to the other area.
Now head back towards the gate but turn right to continue the level. On the left hand side, about half way up the hill you’ll find another lamp-post which you can destroy to gain studs.
Turn left and you’ll find a pile of white Lego bricks, use the ‘WL’ spell on the bricks to create a tea-pot. Them use the ‘WL’ spell again on the tea-pot to fill the cup on the roof of the cafe building. The cup will fall down and clear the ice from the path, allowing you to continue through the area.
Make your way up the path until you reach a building with an open door, go inside and pick up the item inside. Place this item into the cauldron outside of the building.
Move back towards the building and use the ‘WL’ spell on the lollypop item situated on the roof of the building, place this into the cauldron also.
Finally, go to the right hand side of the screen and you’ll see a pad on the floor with paw prints floating up from it; this indicates that you need to change to a character that has the ‘Pet’ ability, I like to use Hermione or Ron. Once you have changed character select the ‘Pet’ ability and press the A button to change into the pet. Stand on the paw print pad, then press and hold the Y button until the item has been dug up. Change back to a human character by pressing the X button.
Now put the item in the cauldron to create a bomb. Once you have placed the item you need to move out-of-the-way before the timer reaches 0 and the bomb explodes.
The third student is now revealed but she is cold so you need to find something to warm her up. Make your way back to the cafe building and head inside, there is a hot drink on the table. Pick up the hot drink and give it to the student, this will rescue the student.
Head up to the top of the area, where you will find the Hog’s Head Pub. Destroy the barrel underneath the pub sign to gain a piece of the pub sign’s picture. Use the ‘WL’ spell on the piece to place it on the sign. The other piece of the sign will be found in the pet pad, repeat the stages explained above to dig the piece out. Use the ‘WL’ spell again to place the piece on the sign.
The screen will move towards the sign and you’ll notice that the picture is mixed up. You need swap the top-left piece with the bottom-right piece, then swap the top-right piece with the bottom-left piece to complete the picture. This will open the door of the hog’s head allowing the fourth student to be rescued.
(Michael Corner Character Token) – (Free Play Mode) Using a character with the ‘Spectrespecs’ (Green Orb) ability, I like to use Luna Lovegood, find three sets translucent snowman Lego pieces. The first is on the right hand side before you cross the river, use the ‘WL’ spell on the pieces to build the snowman (Note: you can destroy the snowman for extra studs). The second snowman is about half way up the hill after you have crossed the river. The third one is near the hog’s head pub sign. Building the three snowmen will give you the Michael Corner character token.
Now continue through the door of the hog’s head to continue to the next area.
Once you have entered the hog’s head pub you can go around destroying everything you can for studs and Lego pieces.
At the back of the pub you’ll see two piles of red and white Lego bricks, use the ‘WL’ spell on both piles to create structures. One of the structures will be a roof, use the ‘WL’ spell on the roof to put it on top of the other structure; you’ll now see a puppet show cut scene.
To the right of the puppet show you’ll see a candle on the table, shoot the candle to get it to blow up the table below. A pile of Lego bricks will be created which you can use the ‘WL’ spell on to create a picture for the wall.
(Wizards Hat) – Go over to the blue, red and yellow barrels to the left of the bar and use the ‘WL’ spell on each of them to place them correctly on the wall. A pile of Lego bricks will be dropped out of the barrels, use the ‘WL’ spell on the pieces to create another picture for the wall. Walk up to the picture and stand on the gold ring, press the A button to watch the cut scene.
Then go to the bar and pick up the apple, take the apple to the hog’s head on the wall to the left of the bar and press the A button to place the apple in the hog’s mouth. The hog’s head will move to the left revealing a chest which contains a death eater. You need to use the ‘Expecto Patronum (EP)’ spell on the death eater to kill it. In doing this a blue exit platform will appear in the centre of the room as well as a Wizards Hat.
(Padma Patil Character) – (Free Play Mode Only) Use strength character on the door with the orange handles situated behind the bar, this will open a secret stair case. Make your way down the stair case and you will enter a room with water on the floor.
Use the Quibbler Dispenser to collect a pair of specrespecs and make your way over to the other side of the room. Using your strength character open the barrel with the orange handles and use the ‘WL’ spell on the Lego pieces which came from the barrel. Then still using your strength character, pull the leaver to suck up all the water from the floor.
Now you’ll see some items on the floor and can interact with them.
Use the ‘WL’ spell on the wheel on the floor to attach it to the machine, then pick up one of the leavers which you will also find on the floor and place it on the wheel which you put on the machine.
Switch to a character that has the ‘Pet’ ability and use the pet to get up the pipe and push the pots off the shelf; these will fall into the barrel below and another wheel will come out. Use the ‘WL’ spell on the wheel to place it on the machine and place the other leaver on the wheel; this can also be found on the floor. Now use the ‘WL’ spell on both of the leaver (one after the other) to set the machine.
Shoot the watering can and use the ‘Agumenti’ spell to fill up the watering can. Use the ‘WL’ spell on the watering can to get the Padma Patil Character token.

Graduate Management Trainee for Enterprise Rent-a-Car
1Hi there,
Sorry I haven’t posted in a while, I’ve been very busy finishing my last year of university and starting my new job as a graduate management trainee for Enterprise Rent-a-Car. Enterprise Rent-a-Car is an American company which was founded in 1957 by Jack Taylor under the name executive leasing, he started the company in St. Louis, Missouri which a fleet of just 7 cars. In 1960′s Jack Taylor introduced enterprise’s distinctive ‘e’ logo that’s still used today, and renamed the company in honour of the U.S.S. Enterprise aircraft carrier on which he’d served during World War II. In 1974 an enterprising rental manager in Orlando started a new pick-up programme that provided customers with a free ride to the rental office which we still do today across the globe.
I applied for Enterprise’s management trainee programme last christmas, and went through a series of interviews and assessment centres.
After sending my application form in, I received a phone call from HR for a telephone interview. They asked very general questions which I did not need to prepare for, the lady who conducted my interview was very helpful and extremely friendly which helped me to relax through the interview.
Then I was called to go and spent about 4 hours at a local branch, I was welcomed with open arms into the branch and everyone was happy to give me advise and show me what they do day to day. I got to go out with one of the guys to pick up a customer, meaning I could see all areas of the job before committing myself to continue with the rest of the recruitment process. I really enjoyed the day at the branch so chose to continue with the process and was invited to HR to have an interview geared towards my skills and experience, all I can suggest is be yourself at the interviews, your not going to fail because you have little experience but if you try and lie your way through they will notice! Then I was invited back to HR for an assessment centre which lasted all day, this was really fun, we got to learn about the company, job, career paths available, benefits and a chance to meet current employees. The day started with a presentation about the history of Enterprise, followed by a presentation about career opportunities. Then we had a couple of group and individual exercises, followed by role plays and a final interview with one the area managers.
Its a long process but it is worth it, as the career opportunities are so varied and pay very well. The starting role is management trainee, the salary is only £16,000 outside of London but there are plenty of opportunities to increase your pay with bonuses. After you have completed your training estimated to take 8-12 months depending on your drive to learn, you will have a pay rise and the opportunity to apply for assistant branch manager where you will receive another pay rise plus commission based on how much the branch makes each month. Once your ready you can apply for branch management receiving a decent salary and a high rate of commission and a company car. There are many areas you can choose to divert into along the way if you do not wish to stay in the branches, plus there are opportunities to move location including relocating abroad.
If anyone wishes to apply for a job with Enterprise Rent-a-Car then send me a message and I will put in a good word for you which will help to move the recruitment process through quicker.
I hope I have helped with any questions you may have.
Look forward to hearing for you.
Speak soon xx
